Naturopathic
Medicine blends traditional natural therapies with western medical science.
Naturopathic doctors are primary care physicians who diagnose disease, perform physical examinations,
and order laboratory testing. In addition, naturopathic physicians practice with the
philosophy, which allows authentic healing to occur. Treatment
protocols are safe and non-toxic, including: Clinical Nutrition, Herbal Medicine,
Homeopathy, Massage, Energetic Medicine, Drainage and
most importantly, Education!
Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine has been practiced for 3,000 years and continues
to maintain their effectiveness during modern times. Treatment, using herbal formulas and/or
acupuncture, is geared toward returning the body to a state of balance, thus, preventing the
progression of disease. Acupuncture is safe, effective, and deeply relaxing. Thin, sterile needles are
inserted at specific points of the body, addressing organic disorders as well as emotional issues. The
World Health Organization endorses the use of acupuncture to treat many acute and chronic health
disorders.
Women's Health involves balancing the hormonal system and learning how to understand the
energetic female body from PMS through menopause. Some conditions addressed are irregular menstruation,
uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and symptoms of menopause.
Reproductive Healthcare addresses preconception and infertility, pregnancy, birth
and
post-partum wellness.
Preconception & Infertility: In the Chinese medical model, the first trimester is considered to be three months prior to conception, demonstrating the importance of cleansing the body, creating a fertile environment for conception to occur. Treatments have helped many women who are having difficulty getting pregnant.
Pregnancy: Within the 1st half of pregnancy, the body's blood volume doubles and ligaments stretch; this rapid transformation puts strain on the body. Treatments alleviate the symptoms and discomfort, which may accompany this transition, while optimizing the potential for what is to come.
Birth: The birthing process requires a mother to release tension, let go of fear and trust the experience, allowing spirit to move through the body. Acupuncture and herbs are a natural approach to treat breech presentation, stimulate labor and support a healthy birth experience.
Post-partum wellness: While midwives and doctors consider six weeks sufficient time to recover from the birth process, mothering an infant requires more energy than does pregnancy. With the demands of an infant, many women fail to nourish themselves. Naturopathic care, acupuncture and bodywork treat fatigue, depression, anxiety, milk supply, and yeast issues associated with post-partum wellness.
Holistic Pelvic Care is a gentle, inter-vaginal massage technique pioneered by Tami Kent, PT, to relieve
tension and realign imbalances in the muscles of the pelvic floor, which support the uterus and
ovaries. Holistic Pelvic Care technique is used to improve post-partum healing, increase pelvic
muscle strength, treat urine incontinence, as well as release tensions in the body, creating a deep sense of vitality throughout the entire body.
Well baby & Pediatric Care aimed toward a natural approach for your growing child's health needs.
Visits begin with open- ended playtime giving the doctor a chance to get to know your child at his or
her own pace. Intake and physical exams are seamlessly incorporated into your child's visit. And
